The Miffy First Light was designed after a Dick Bruna illustration, and has quietly become part of the bedtime ritual in homes since its launch in 2018. Parents who bought her for the night feeds find, a few years on, that their child still says goodnight with a kiss to her silicone nose.
Cast in soft BPA-free silicone at 30cm tall, she runs entirely cordless on a rechargeable battery and travels exactly as well as she sits still — no cord, no power point, nothing to forget. Designed by Amsterdam studio Mr Maria, founded by Jannes Hak and Lennart Bosker in 2006, the lamp holds a dimmable LED module with six brightness steps and a genuine night mode for the long hours before dawn.
