Meri Meri, Blue Bird Costume

Ruffled blue tulle wings, a velvet headdress with a glitter beak, and all the beauty.
The Blue Bird costume is everything the Meri Meri dress-up range promises in miniature: a winged cape cut from layers of ruffled blue tulle with a graceful tail, and a headdress made from soft blue velvet with stitched silver eyes and a glitter fabric beak. Both pieces are designed for independent dressing — the cape closes with a popper fastener, the headdress with a glitter elastic hook and loop — which means less time fastening and more time flying. The costume works equally well for birthday parties, imaginative play, and Book Week, where bird characters appear across picture books, fairy tales, and chapter books alike. Spot clean as needed.

Meri Meri was founded in 1985 by Meredithe Stuart-Smith — a mother who started hand-making cards on her kitchen table to fit work around her family. Named after her childhood nickname, the brand has grown to a Cheltenham-based design studio with 20 designers, now selling in 80 countries. Their dress-up range is couture quality for children's imaginations.
