A kaleidoscope is an optical instrument that will amaze every eye. Its name is derived from the Ancient Greek words kalos, eidos, and skopeō, meaning "observation of beautiful forms". The ancient Greeks already knew this visual toy; the modern version we know today was invented by David Brewster, the Scottish physician, in 1816.
The colourful pieces of broken glass inside the tube create infinite spell-bounding compositions (thanks to the symmetrically placed lenses). If you look through the hole at the end of the kaleidoscope and start rotating it, the crystal-glittering image comes to life.
The Bomo Art kaleidoscopes are magnificent not only from the inside but also from the outside, to complete the visual experience. They take you back in time to your childhood and the world of handmade instruments. It's a perfect gift for kids and playful adults. We also create another version, the teleidoscope, which creates a multiplicity of magic by mirroring the real environment.
