Londji
The name belongs to a small fishing village in Cameroon. The people who chose it for their toy studio in Barcelona in 2004 have never fully explained why - but it suggests something about the way they think: that a good toy, like a good place, carries a feeling you can't quite account for rationally.
Londji designs its puzzles and games in Barcelona and makes them an hour north in Girona — recycled cardboard, FSC paper, fabric bags sewn in local workshops. What makes them immediately recognisable is the illustration: warm, detailed, slightly unhurried, as though each image has been given the time it needed.
A completed Londji puzzle is worth looking at for a long time. That is not a coincidence.
