Londji, Bee Eyes — Major Tom or Rocket
Couldn't load pickup availability
Major Tom is floating in his rocket, and through this lens, he sees the world exactly as a bee does — in hundreds of tiny pieces, all at once.
The Bee Eye is not a kaleidoscope in the traditional sense. Rather than using mirrors and coloured glass, it uses a compound acrylic lens — the same optical structure as a bee or dragonfly's eye — to show the world as a multitude of tiny simultaneous images. Hold it up to a window and the light fractures into dozens of the same view, each one perfect and miniature. Point it at a flower, a face, a cloud, and the effect is immediate and absorbing.
The Major Tom and Rocket Mix brings two of these viewers together: one illustrated with Canseixanta's Major Tom astronaut character, and one with his rocket. Each is Ø 3.5cm, 21cm tall, made from recycled cardboard with a plant-based colour finish. Two viewers that occupy small hands for considerably longer than their size suggests. Made in Barcelona. Sold Individually.
