Ferm Living, Pear Money Bank - Cashmere

The Pear Money Bank is Ferm Living making the case that functional objects should be held to the same design standards as decorative ones. Cast from glazed stoneware in the soft, warm cashmere colourway, it has the weight and presence of a sculptural piece — stem and leaf giving the form a clear front, the rounded body satisfying in the hand — and a coin slot at the top that earns it a place in a drawer or on a shelf for years. At 18.5cm tall it reads as an object first and a bank second, which makes it as appropriate on a parent's bookshelf or desk as in a child's room. Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
