For families who keep Sinterklaas, the feast is not quite complete without a little light on the table. Saint Nicholas is a 19 × 19 cm Toverlux silhouette by Vogel Geluk, lit from behind in the lamp or a window.
Linda Lammerts van Bueren is a Dutch artist who makes transparencies, pictures built from layer upon layer of tissue paper. Since 2016 that has been her full-time work, and she says her days have been full of colour and light ever since.
