Wild Imagination is the book that launched Your Wild Books in 2019, crowdfunded by a community of families who believed what Brooke Davis believed: that children need nature, and that a good book can help get them there. Inside are more than 20 nature play activities — making flower crowns, painting with leaves, whittling basic shapes, creating story stones, making paint brushes from found materials, and more — all using what can be found in nature or around the house. The activities are open-ended, adaptable to any season or location, and inexpensive by design. Suitable from around age 2 with support, and fully independent from around age 7. Your Wild Books is a South Australian brand founded by Brooke Davis — author, nature play educator, and self-described chief Nature Warrior. Brooke ran an award-winning outdoor play program called Wild Imagination for more than 20,000 children before publishing her first book in 2019 with a crowdfunding campaign and a simple belief: that kids need nature, and that books are one of the best ways to help them find it.
